Mmmm, San Francisco …
This city has been in my heart and yearned to return. This year’s trip will focus on the city of SF and local restaurants. But it has to offer much more. And here is warm +25.
How to spend time before dinner? We decided to walk through the places where the last time did not reach. Chinatown is the place what we gazed three years ago and it still brought surprises – all of which can not be found here. The most interesting things are what you eat. We stopped in several dried products store to wonder around but did not dare to buy something. I would like to be in the form for dinner;)
Golden Gate is indeed one of the biggest attractions which is associated with the city, but not the only one. Pier 39 sea lions are likewise known and loved by tourists. Who doesn’t like sleeping lions ?! Or disagree? Well, my husband makes a deep sigh when sees an animal – he just knows that now it’s gonna take some time to move on.
85-95% of those on the platforms are males fighting for the best place to sunbathe (sleep). Females prefer to live year-round in mating areas. So that’s why these places tend to be noisy. It’s an argument, it can’t be done whispering.
If you want to see them, it does not necessarily need a flight over the ocean. Just look over here.
When walking around the city, well on the right streets, you will see old transportation. Catchy to the eye, fun to ride and charming to have on a photo.
One place that we didn’t see last time, was the Lombard Street. I imagine locals can be quite annoyed when trying to get home, but tourists try to get a perfect picture from the street and stopping in the middle of an intersection, despite the heavy traffic. We tried to be polite and not stop in the middle of the road to take pictures.
Hmmm, a drone would be better, I’m not tall enough.
After strolling up and down (mhm, SF is not flat), we were hungry. One of my favorite fast food in the US is Panda Express. I can’t help it, it is too good to miss. And, of course, ice cream. On a beautiful and sunny day, and let’s face it, in any other case, ice cream is always suitable. Therefore we did our homework and looked up for some of the places where to conduct some tasting. The first one on the road was Smitten Ice Cream.

Benu had the first two Michelin stars in 2012 and kept them in the following three years. 2015 was a year to celebrate, as they received the third star. And they have kept it.

About the menu. There is only one option – set tasting menu. If possible they make changes to the menu according to your dietary restrictions or allergies. But please inform about these as early as possible.
This premium addition is customary in SF. It is counted as a tip, and it seeks to smooth out staff bonuses and to raise the basic salary. If you think the service and food were truly exceptional, it doesn’t forbid you to leave extra tip
