Tai Boh, Estonia (Tallinn Restaurant Week)
Exquisite Asian fusion restaurant in Tallinn with crazy interior.
Thai chef Khampan
This restaurant has been on my radar for quite some time, but never had the time to pop in and have a meal. So, during the restaurant week i knew this one place where i definitely want to go.
We stepped into a dim room, were seated to our table and supervising could begin. Having visited Manna la Roosa next door, expectations were there. And i didn't have to disapoint. It was elegantly stylish, not so crazy as Manna la Roosa. There are strong influences from Thai mixed with eclectic modernity. It's like a palace in Thai's fairytale.
Mocktails list had 6 drinks, and we tried most of them during dinner. If you don't drink alcohol, there's still more than one reasons to go and have a mocktail in Tai Boh when others enjoy their coctails. Exciting mocktail names envite you to try them out and the staff has good recommendations also.
If you like spicy food, Tai Boh is your place. And if you don't like it so hot, it's still a very good place to have thai food.
When you have a dish with prawns there's usually one of them. Okey, two. But never six without paying extra. Yes, i counted them and was oh so happy during my main course.
And the dessert....
It just vanished from my plate. I was happy and yet sad. What to you do in a situation like this? You order one more :)
Silk cake is silky, but you can't wear it. Just eat it.
One thing that was absolutely unexpected was the service. To be precise, the excellence of it. You didn't have to wait and wave ten times before someone notices that you need something. They were "watching us behind the curtains", but it never felt like stalking. I was flattered.
Tai Boh is a must go place in Tallinn whether for dinner with your loved one, have a girls/boys night out, or just enjoy the good Thai food made by chef Khampan.
